This is when you know someone is truly dumb, he said”REI sub zero 20 deg.” sleeping bag, is you knew anything about the outdoors you would know rei is a gear store who has their own line of gear.

Thats kinda mean don’t you think? The guy is happy and hes trying. Why call him dumb? Maybe say “Inexperienced”? Just a thought.

    Hi,
So you did the whole trail? Too cool. Say, where do I find others who want to hike in a group? I can’t find anyone to go with me. Wimps! :)

  6. Bassman018 says:

Edit – inexperianced, whe you backpack for a while REI becomes part of your vocabulary.

The REI sub-kilo 20 is a great bag…great reviews and just under 2 lbs. ///Thanks for the vid and hope you the very best!

Hey, I am planning to hike half of the trail from Harpers Ferry to Springer Mtn. Are you looking to do the whole thing or part?

  9. iceaxe56 says:

    i bet that pack weighs 70 lbs..damn

  10. slawpumpkin says:

    are you kidding?
why not just fill up a trailer and pull it along the trail?
he says hes trying to “go lite” and he brings a 5 pound tent and a 5 pound 1st aid kit?
    HAHA-damn newbies!

  11. mporba says:

What kind of pack is that? A McHale?

  12. elfboy382 says:

    its the sub-kilo

  13. ScadGears says:

harpers ferry to Springer is about 1/4 of the trip.

Where did you get the waterproof bags for your clothes and sleeping bag?

  15. wesarnold1 says:

Why would you take ibuprofen daily? long term use (such as over a 6 month period to hike the AT) can cause GI bleeds and kidney damage. Did you mean Aspirin?

  16. ajatkinson2004 says:

@slawpumpkin well 5 pounds ain’t terrible for a 2p tent, especially since he probably needs one that will last him the entire AT and be good in three seasons. The 1st aid kit is a little much though haha

  17. jt838 says:

is that a gregory Z55 pack? it looks like mine which is a Z55

  18. dtdude42 says:

@Nerotique tell that to the bears

  19. dtdude42 says:

TWO huge pots? lighten up, bro

  20. Nerotique says:

@dtdude42 If you’re close enough to a bear to use that big knife, you’re doing it wrong.

  21. dtdude42 says:

    @ScadGears 46% of the distance

  22. dtdude42 says:

@Nerotique doing what wrong? hiking or living? haha just playing. personally, i enjoy bringing a throwing knife or two for those days i don’t feel like hiking… just a guy in the woods with a shiney blade and a tree stump

  23. MikeSkiera says:

did you make it to katahdin?

  24. beccanewton05 says:

i know its been a while but if you still have all this gear you should do a review of how it all worked or, if you traded something out, why it didnt work out. that would be really helpful!

  25. nroc13 says:

ur filter is that the hiker or the hiker pro?
