    You MUST;

    1. Make smores
    2. Hike the nature trails if any
    3. Tell stories around the campfire scary or not
    4. Sing campfire songs
    5. Involve the children as much as possible

    Food for a 2 night 3 day stay is dependent on whether you’re bringing coolers or not or planning on cooking. Here are some ideas posted below.

    Also, this website is fantastic for all things family camping.

    Hope it helps and have fun!!!

    The "Must-Do’s" depend on where you are going. The must do’s on a campout at a lake in the mountains are different than for a desert campout. And, in reality, there are no "must-do’s" for any campout except: build your shelter, start your campfire/cook your food, and don’t get lost.

    I already know that you’ll do the basics.

    Having done family camping, I recommend the following "must dos."

    Everyone should have pre-assigned chores for which they are responsible and will be held accountable.

    Firewood, clean up, food prep before it’s cooked.

    In addition, everyone should have their own plate…that plate is their responsibility to keep clean and keep track of.

    Each individual should have their own eating utensils for which they will keep track of, clean, and utilize during the camp out.

    Believe me, with children, this will reduce stress.
